Default Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My brilliant girlfriend here, locked the keys in the car. I am poor and cant afford a locksmith, my dad is out of town w/ my spare key. So i am down to a coat hanger, where is the lock mechanism at? How hard is it??

This is why you pay AAA...check with some towing companies, I am not sure of the cost, but it will be less than a locksmith. As far as I know, the tension is too great for a hanger anyway.

Yeah, it's a PITA to slim Jim
If you have your registration (or Copy of) or write down your Serial #, and you have a good relationship with your dealer, they will cut you a new key from a key code.

It's like $10
That is, if you have a spare car

The locking mechanism will be a little tough as you have to flip it up (at least on my RD2) Maybe you can get the hanger in between the weather stripping and the side window.

I've locked my keys in the Tib about 3 times now.... hehe The first time I was lucky and worked with a guy who did repo work on the side and he easily popped the lock with a coat hanger (so it can be done, I've tried it and had no luck), but the other two times I had to call a tow service to get it opened. Don't call the locksmith they'll just steal a whole lot of your money.

locksmiths can be very expensive..that happend to me (in my BMW) and they had to drill the old lock ...it sucked and was very expensive as I had to pay for a new lock and new set of keys..plus installation..

The only time I have been successful with a hanger was with my gf's 99 neon and it still nearly bent the hanger out of shape before I pulled it open. To flip the lock on my Tib takes a little more work than you would expect, and it may make things difficult with a wire hanger.

The window should be pretty easy to budge since there is not op frame so maybe if u used some gum and a rubber hanger u could grab onto the latch from the inside
