Hi guys,
Today while filling a little extra oil to the engine, a small plastic cap poped from the bottle of the oil and fell into the engine...

Do I have to worry?
I figured out that oil goes through filter, and a labirinth untill it gets INSIDE, so I had to drive and did. Nothing happed, drove fine...

What should I do now? Try to take the engine apart to dig it out or what?

Thanks!!

You drove it?

You are nuts. Not like it could EASILY get anywhere, but it could.

Take your spark plug wires out, your valve cover off, and the metal piece on the inside of the valve cover off, hopefully it's there. if not, check your cams and upper head to see what's all covered in melted plastic, and hope for the best.

Its not a big deal. the cap will likely still be inside the valve cover. Just take off the valve cover and you should be able to find it fing02.gif

you need to take the valve cover off and take it out. replace the valve cover gasket while you're at it.

wtf are you talking about, not a big deal?? You have cams spinning at thousands of RPMs, the head gets very hot, its possible that the cap melted or got pulverized by a cam lobe.

I definitely wouldn't have even started the engine.

How did the cap fall in there in the first place? My buddies all have this habit of only twisting the cap so far off so that they "don't lose it". Personally, I take the cap right off and put it completely off to the side.
