Fuel Ratio
I was looking for a way to richen up my fuel mixture on my 2001 Tibby. It seems to be burning to lean after I installed my 4-2-1 header and big bore throttle bodie, the header is turning purple. I looked for a adjustable fuel regulator so i could raise the pressure to the injectors but I had no luck finding one that would fit without major modifications to the fuel rail. Does anyone know a way to richen the mixture up without making any permanent modifications(for warranty purposes)-Thanks in advance

Your car is already pig-rich from the factory, the header turning purple is 100% normal. Your stock exhaust gas temperature hits 1200F and higher, so it certainly is hot enough to discolor the header.
These cars run about 15-18% more fuel than they actually need, it comes that way from the factory. The best way to get more power out of these cars is to actually lean it out.
I gained almost 7whp on my last dynotune by using the AFC to pull about 16% less fuel from 5000 to 7000 RPM's. This was with:
2.0L Tiburon
Intake
HVE Throttlebody
Ported intake manifold
Elantra 2.0L intake cam
Ported cylinder head, 3-angle valve job
HVE 4-1 header
Free-flow cat
2.5" full exhaust
Apexi S-AFC

Did you loose anything (torque) once you installed the Apexi? how hard is it to install? I've seen random's pin out post...so, is that all there is to it? how much did you get your for?

I am looking into buying the S-AFC although it is on back order from Apexi. I found a couple of dealers but they have them on back order as well. Any Ideas on where I should look.

if the Honda B&M regulators fit,... shouldint the A&M fit also ???
I really need an adjustable regulator for nitrous use,... so this would really help
thanx
BTW its only going to be used for a months worth of insanity so spending 120+ on a regulator is not an option

YOu want to run richer? Pull the tube going from the IM to the Fuel Regulator at the end of the fuel rail. This device senses IM vacuum and adjusts fuel pressure to compensate. If the hose is removed from the IM there is 0 vacuum in the regulator, so it will boost the psi in the fuel line to max (around 50) and keep it there. Hard on your fuel pump though....
