Default Fuel delivery problem?

So after buying this 03 Tiburon GT (155k on the engine), the car will start, but quickly die if the accelerator isn't held. The problem originally only happened after adding gas, but now is happening when starting all the time. Also, I'm pretty sure the fuel sender is going because the fuel gauge has stopped functioning properly, reading empty, full, and everything in between; and the low fuel light isn't working properly. Does this sound like a failing fuel pump?

Thank you!

I would go with idle control motor and the sending unit. It is attached to the thing that holds the fuel pump, but isn't the fuel pump itself. Once going is it pulling ok when you take off? Also, when it was doing it only after a refuel were you running the ac like you might be after this problem got worse? When the ac is running it would need a bit more help from that idle control motor I was talking about.

The sending unit should be easy enough to get to thanks to the access port into our tanks.

I'm pretty sure the sending unit is having an issue, as the level doesn't read true anymore. When I first got the car, the AC didn't work; I recharged it, however the problem was happening before that. Usually the problem occurs after driving the vehicle for a while, and then turning it off; or right after filling up the tank. Is there a fuel level sensor separate from the sending unit?

Sending unit, sensor whatever you call it just tells the gauge what you have left. It doesn't send fuel. It or something in that wiring is broken as you can see by the guage.. however that is not causing the engine to kill itself. Unless the tib is really odd.

That may be the idle control motor. The reason I asked about the A/c is once you are running the A/c that part will bump the idle up a bit to keep the engine running at idle with an extra load on it, that load being the A/c. That is just a guess and probably not that great of one with the information given. It might be a really screwy evap system since it seems to hate getting fueled up.

You have more than one thing wrong with the car.
