My 98 Tiburon had popping noises when I bought it so I looked it over and found that both boots on the passenger cv axle were completely bad so I replaced the axle thinking it would fix the noise. As soon as I test drove my car after replacing the axle the popping was still there if not worse when turning and braking. Is this a bad motor mount or what other parts could be making this noise?

Check your motor mounts.

I looked at all of them and they don't seem rotted or cracked at all and it only pops under hard braking or sharp turns. Would the passenger side mount be the most likely bad mount since my passenger side cv axle went bad?

I had the same sound, coming from the right side. A mechanic told me the lower control arm bushings were worn. I replaced the entire control arm and that fixed it. Not entirely sure how it could make that sound, even with worn bushings, but there you go

I checked my wheel bearings and they seem fine, there isn't any weird sounds or play in them. I jacked up my car and shook my wheel and it would move some from left to right. So this made me think I have a bad tie rod end but when I took the wheel off I couldn't see any play in it. Could this also be my sway bar link or should I just replace my tie rod end?

If the tie rod is bad replace it. If the wheel is moving along with the rest of the steering gear, it may be alright.

It ended up being a bad sway bar end link that was popping. One more thing down now just for a drivers side control arm bushing ugh.
