I went to a few junkyards today in search of a passenger side mirror that i had broken on my tib. And i find 3 rd1's today with the parts I was looking for. But one of them had a header and i wanted to know if i should buy the header from the junkyard or not just looking at the pic to tell quality. Also it was stamped ECFI on the intake manifold which is what i thought was supposed to be the 1.8l motor right? Because if it is i want to get the cam also.

I believe you are correct about it being a 1.8 motor. However, I am betting it is not a real header, it is probably the "1.8 semi header" which is OEM. Replacing your current manifold with this WILL give you some gains, but with the time you put into it for taking the old one off and putting it on your car, it wouldn't be worth it. The OBX headers are super cheap anyway.

Where are you from?

i dont think thats the semi header.. that looks like a real deal.. i would buy that and coat it.. would be cheaper than OBX, and they looks different than obx. beings obx is the lowest quality header available for the rd, that might be better.

I am from Salem Indiana. I could have sworn it was like a Gt header clone. The pipes go 4-2-1 and theres nothing in the way of me unbolting it off of this car, so i thought i might pick it up. When i go back i might check the exhaust to see if its aftermarket because i didnt even think to look. But i hope to god its a 1.8 motor, so i can do the cam swap along with my adjustable cam gear from the BSE group buy.

Well, it looks nothing like the GT header ... but it does look interesting. Maybe some old schooler will recognize it. I've never seen a header like that for our cars..

Im pretty sure its a 97 rd1, and it really got my attention because of the header and i had never seen something like it. Because there arent a lot of manufactures who make a header for our cars, i really didnt recognize it with something i was familiar with.

If you look at the engine number you'll tell if it's 1.8 or 2.0, the 2.0 is G4GF.
If you take the header, don't forget to flex pipe too.
