Okay, so I've been doing some research on what type of exhaust I can get in my country (Netherlands).
There's only 2 type of 'bolt on' mufflers I can get over here:
Sebring (totally stainless):
http://www.gkb-import.nl/zoeksebring/xaran...12002s001_1.htm
Laser (PDF File / Dunno if it's totally stainless):
http://www.laserexhausts.com/dotcontrol/fi...E_M_9069000.pdf
I know the sebring one costs me about 300 euros, so I guees these things are expensive.

Why no full catback? Well, I think that can get me in trouble,
because over here if your car is over 3 yrs old you have to get it tested every year for any troubles.
If like say your exhaust is not air solid it's not okay, and you may not drive it.
They also test it for outcomming toxic gasses.
With my previous car I didn't even get through the annual check for the gasses with only
a muffler (universal cannon thingie) change and an intake change.
They do however let you drive it if you have a 'illegal exhaust' (like the one I had on my old car).
That is an exhaust wich isn't approved by the EC.

If the police however catches me with this, they can make me get it tested for db (too loud or not),
and basically screw me over, because it's not made for my car.
So any 'universal' type exhaust will basically fit that description.

So does anyone maybe have ideas for me on what type of muffler/exhaust I should/can get?
I don't wanna take it all off when I need to get the car checked, nor attract any police with it.
(They don't really like me as it is tongue.gif )
I guess if I have one that doesn't make too much noise (just a bit more, or deeper tones) I should be allright.

But what if I change my header, would that give more sound or gasses whatever?
'Cause I was planning of doing that after my muffler was done.

Ok, this is what I would do.

Contact blacktibs from flyryde.com

He's a member here. He can get you an AWSOME catback for the price you pay for just that muffler. With all the supplies needed. Gaskets, bolts etc so its AIR TIGHT.

For pollution and emmisons, buy a 16" Cat.

For noise buy a 36" Glasspack. Have a shop weld it on and your set. If you need it quiter, there's a silencer that comes with the catbacks.

Any further questions us know.

If you talk to Blacktibs he will probably ship it to your door, at your expense smile.gif

If you still just want the muffler, which will basically not do anything for your car, go on ebay and purchase one. It will sound bad tho, just a FYI.

Allright, I'll contact him. Thanks guys.
What's a glasspack anyway? Really have no idea what it should be,hehe. Must be called something totally different over here smile.gif .

Just found this on a site.
Roughly translated to English:
-Exhaust must be air-tight, and properly attached.
-Younger gasoline cars should have a catalyst.
-Car must get through emission standards.
-There's no need for EU/EC approval. If you get ticketed for it you can appeal,
because the law itself only is for cars who drive on Gas, not gasoline.
(Ecogas, earthgas, whatever it's called)
-If ticketed by a cop for too much sound on hearing, you can appeal,
because they have to use approved measure equipment, used when the car is at
normal working temperatur.
Although, if a cop finds you make too much noise, he
can take your car papers, and make you come to get it measured at a facility,
and you have to show that your car does approve. Usually takes about 4 weeks.
(Silencer anyone?)

Should be allright then.

A stainless steel aftermarket cat-back exhaust is 100 times better than your stock exhaust..

It sounds to me like the laws over there are similar to what we have here. All you do is buy a catalytic converter off of ebay to make it legal, and the buy a different muffler (no rice cannon muffler, get a magnaflow or something nice) to quiet it down. You can also buy a glasspack if you want to make it even more quiet.

Do not spend $300 on a muffler alone...get a cat-back, you won't be disappointed and it's definitely EASY to keep it legal.

Well I got about 600euro to throw at it at this point. Might be a little more next month or so. That should get me something proper, right?

so you basically have $766 USD. Dude, you can buy one hell of an exhaust from the US or BlackTibs and have it sent over. Also, you might have a little extra to have some fun with afterwards.

Good Luck bud.

Your total cost should be around $600 (USD) for a NICE catback with catalytic converter (to keep it legal) and some cheap headers.
If you've spent more, you know you aren't price shopping or you're getting ripped off. In fact, your cost SHOULD be less than that.
