Is there a pdf or a website somewhere that lists exact specs (internals) of the beta 1 1.8 and 2.0 and the beta 2 2.0?

The more specific the better.

Basiaclly want I want to find is the differences internally between the beta 1 1.8, 2.0, and beta 2 2.0. I want numbers not, well beta 2 has a longer stroke than blah blah blah... Also differences in the head too.

(Had my short block fall off my engine stand and cracked. Now I'm searching for a new engine, and would like to see some numbers for the internals, crank differences, valve strokes etc..)

I've should of checked webtech. Its on there. Silly newb, I should of searched.

I'll post up the sheets in detail.

Locked for now. There are more differences than I thought. When I get the time I'll organize the info than re-open this thread

Tanc,
conterweights are different but bore and stroke are the same (2.0 versus 2.0)
1.8 only has a smaller stroke and longuer rods)

beta2 don't have the oil restrictor in the deck surface because they don't have hydraulic lifter

the main problem with beta2 so far seams to be the crank triggur wheel
i've seen 5 (only on beta2 never on a beta1) fail and kinda "explode" damaging the crank sensor and making a good amount of metal scrap
in the oil pan,and of course to replace it you need to get the engine apart....

must be personal expeirence...between the forums and the dealerships i have NEVER seen that happen....

the only thing that i have seen has been thrust bearings go bad and there would be crank walk. but they were all covered by warranty.

beta2 also has bigger water jackets and oil passages and solid lifters with shimable tappets

yeah, I've seen the crank walk also mostly on beta2
only saw it once on a beta1 but looks like one of the thrust bearings had been mounted the wrong way at the factory
(yeah they do screw up stuff sometimes)
crank walk must be because of the mitsubishi origin, the early one were fine but the later one almost all suffered from crank walk

actually i spoke with 2 guys at different dealership and they never came across the exploding trigger wheel, but then it might be exploding past the warranty

Only1db if I'm not mistaken the reason that Dvanderk is doing his rebuild is because his trigger wheel exploded. However, he said that the people the built his engine before didn't torque it to factory spec.....
