Default Engine rebuild

hello

i wonder if you can give me a bit of advice, in the UK i have a coupe gen 1 (tiburon RD1?) and i have seen on many ocassions that you can install 1.8 pistons on 2.0 rods to get a higher compression. i want to give my block a rebored and i wonder would i have any issues using oversized 1.8 pistons on 2.0 rods?

Cheers

the bore is the same between the 1.8L and the 2.0L It's the stroke that is different.

the piston tops are slightly different in shape, so yes, using 1.8L pistons will give you a slight bump in compression, all things being equal. Just make sure you check your valve clearances/timing!
