Electrifying Tib!!
Hey guys...
I know this should prolly be in the noob section as it's got nothing to do with "Performance" per say (other than the potential loss of power/performance due to my problem), but any help would be greatly appreciated...
Lately, I've been having a worrying problem with my "Electrifying Tib"!
You see, my car's been litterally ELECTROCUTING me everytime I lock her up with the key!! (my remote's stuffed :? & I'm waiting on a new one) Even to the point where, at night, I see a spark where the key has contact with the door lock.
Now I know this is oviously a grounding problem... what I don't know is where to look first to rectify the problem.
Any thoughts?

it's winter down there, right? I get static shocked in my Tib ALL the time in the winter. The air is colder and without that much humidity.. and you are wearing bulky clothing that is usually made up of loosely woven material.. stuff that just BEGS to build up a static charge.
Sorry, I deal with it every winter myself..especially when I wear my heavy suede jacket with the wool lining... not much that can be done..

You can always try putting a "grounding strap" on the bottom of your car, that should get rid of any electrical charge that the body has. I see them all the time on cars around here. My last car used to do that all the time, everytime I got out of it, you could see the spark jump. It was a pain in the ass. Something like this might help http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sspagename=WDVW

Cheers for the advice guys...
Just checked the link canadianshark74 put up... I think the guy who did the product write-up went to the same school BLK2KTIB went to!! wink.gif
I don't think I'll bother with the strap though... they look pretty crap.
I'd be surprised if the weather was fully responsible for the problem though 'cause, even though is IS WINTER down here, the temp's still been around the low 20s (Celsius that is) during the daytime... so I'd hardly say it's been cold, yet it still does it even then :? .
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to live with it untill I get my new remote!
Once again, thanks for the input guys!
