ya, thx for the reply. I should take my whole console off and start running some tests and see what the problem may be. Right now its 3 degrees F.. I need to wait a bit for it to warm up. I also have an apline amp and 2 type R's. Do you think it will be a good idea to take them out for now concidering my electrical problem?

 

Nah, there is no major electrical problem. Basically all that the short is doing is making the light go on before it is supposed to. Its not like you have a hot hitting a hot, or a hot hitting a ground directly (ie, from the battery to ground with no resistive devices inbetween). They should be fine.
