Ecu Switch?
I just installed an SAFC2 this weekend, and I've been reading up on tuning with it. One major hiccup in the whole SAFC tuning process is of course our too-eager-to-learn ECU, which overrides the SAFC settings within a very short time period. Apparently, one way to work around this is to reset the ECU over and over, before the computer has had a chance to figure out what's going on.
This being said, I would like to install a switch that resets the ECU from inside the car, without having to get under the hood at all. This way, it's a process that I could do every day on the way home from work or something along those lines. It would also double as a kill switch if I felt the need.
I read through the ECU-reset DIY and other threads (DTN actually suggested this same switch idea at one point), but I'd like to hear from some more knowledgeable folks. My idea is simply cut ECU power wire and butt in a switch, then install this switch in some inconspicuous location. Would that be sufficient to reset the ECU, without resetting my radio or other accessories? Other thoughts?

To have the switch installed inside the car so there are less holes and cables from outside, then that would probably be the best way.
The only other way I can think of is to run the switch on the fuse itself.
I really am not knowledgeable about this myself but taht seems the logical way, putting a switch on the power wire and flicking it off for about 30 seconds when you get in the car.
Are you turbo or n/a? Because if you are n/a you dont need to reset it. Just have it only change 85+ percent of the throttle.

It's possible. You have to cut the power wires and install a switch. Theres a few power wires to the ECU as I recall. It would be easiest to install a circuit breaker on the battery terminal.
Battery terminal negative --------OO AWG wire ------- THIS ----- Normal negative battery terminal connections.

You mount it on the side firewall with the wires behind it. You have one visible wire comming from the battery terminal, then a switch on the firewall next to the battery. You can hide all of the wires. You will only see the top half of that switch.
DTN, it would suck resetting everything each time (stereo, alarm settings). Way better to just kill the ECU. There's an ECU fuse in the fuse box under the hood, maybe you can trace the wiring from there?
i personaly would get some conectors to go on each side of the ecu fuse , with wires from each individual side. then run the wires into the car. put a 20A fuse on one of the wires. wire a togle switch onto your kick pannel under your sterring wheel. then youll have a switch for your ECU.
im sure you can figure out witch fuse from the picture
