I installed my safc and it runs fine while the ecu plug is in. Problem is It wont stay in. I tried the way java did and put the plug in without the black box clamp. It will not stay at all. I tried putting the black box back on and cant get it to fit in.

I tried fitting the black box in by itself without wires in the way and it still will not go in. I tried tape as well to hold the plug in and that didn't help at all.

Any Ideas guys? there's just no room. I removed the hood latch cable and that made it a little better but still no cigar. >.<

lol. put the clamp back on.. where did you solder the wires to? you shouldn't even have to mess with the plug when wiring in a piggyback.. just tap into the harness.

One big zip tie around the whole thing (straight through 1/2 of the wires and around the entire ecu) works wonders.

Or use alot of little zipties together.

Socks that's what the black box was, the clamp. Wouldnt fit in even by itself(no wires in it). It stayed in without the clamp fine untill I shut the hood, then I couldnt get it to stay in at all.

I tried using some cheap a$$ small zip ties that my mom had, took like 4 of them to tie around the harness and I got it in, it ran fine but bogged down when you first pressed the gas. So I figured I just needed to tighten the ties, something wasnt connecting fully.

When I pulle don the tie it broke... So I got some more out and tried again, but the car wouldnt start, or when it would it would idle rough and die. So I went and bought some 14" ties and used them.

The car is running like it did before all this except it may idle rough sometimes while sitting. I took it for a drive around the block to warm it up then went down a back street to see if all the power was back and it runs fine. Only thing that bothers me is that rough idle that sometimes happens with it. Although this was all in 10 minutes for the test run so maybe it just needs to run a lil longer.

Anyway I'm going to use it to go to work and we'll see what happens. Thank you for the zip tie suggestion; Mad john suggested that at 4am aswell. It was 2am when I called it quits and I had worked all day, I couldnt even think to use ties lol.
