Default before you turbo

ok i know these are retarded questions but i have heard so many different answers i just want to know the truth!
the ECT switch, this is traction control right? what exactly does it do?
and the overdrive switch, i know overdrive keeps your RPMs down, which in-turn saves you gas money right? but what else does overdrive do? when you're racing you should keep this off to start right to keep RPMs higher? or no....im confused enlighten me :-D

IF you are racing an auto.. you should probably drop it down into D1 manually and shift it up as you hit or approach redline... do not let the tranny do it itself.. it is designed to save wear and tear, not power.

Also, I THINK ECT is for what program the tranny uses.. either more aggressive or mild

http://hmaservice.com/webtech/iindex.asp?i...id=12168#_12168 Thats your answer for the ECT button.. If your racing, OD really shouldnt come into play (in a drag race) as long as your foot is to the floor.. But it wont hurt as 3rd should rev high enough to get you down the 1/4 laugh.gif

ECT button just allows you to Rev higher before it shifts gears , for higher speeds(highway, passing other cars)

If you care about getting the most out of your tank, then keep the Overdrive engaged, and the ECT button at Normal smile.gif

OD is just that.. overdrive.. it is like adding a fifth gear to a four speed tranny..
