Default Does this Exist?

I have a custom project in mind and what I was wanting to know if there is software or a piggyback out there that you would be able to hook to your laptop to display things like your a/f, boost, water temp, etc...?

I am planning on getting the SMT-6, so this is not what I am talking about. Basically, what I am looking for is something that can display this information on a computer screen, almost eliminating the need for aftermarket gauges.

I am pretty sure stuff like this is out there and I think I have seen it before, I have just been looking around and can't find anything.

I knew one guy back in Japan that had this, cost him somewhere around $1200 for the software only. Haven't kept in touch with him since I left tho so i'm not sure what exactly it's called.

Its not a bad idea if you think about it if you can somehow find it for ~600ish (if you already have a laptop) since four or five gauges could run 400 bucks or so.

They have an OBD-II reader someone posted about that shows IAT and other stuff. So their probably is software out there. Check major electronics makers like GReddy and AEM, should be universal mostly.

That's exactly what I was thinking, just didn't realize it would cost so much. I was wanting to have a screen in my dash (such as an indash DVD player) that will display engine stats. I think this would be a much cleaner looking install then gauges on the pillar, that is all, no rice. I know that I would need a hard drive and video card to hook to the screen, but those could be mounted about anywhere.

I will keep looking.

Dude, there was just a post about this this last weekend. I cant find it but some guy over at HA.com did just what your talking about. He took it a step further though. He replaced his whole guage cluster in the dash with a screen. You can read speed, rpms, boost, water temp., etc. It was set up to read everything you would ever want to know.

I cant find the post, does anyone else remember?
