And they something about the suspension beeing revised to offer more comfort, "so as it is now softer, the ride is smoother" or something like that. Man, if they make the suspension even more soft, it's going to be an awfully boaty feel car, plus the price of a vvt system is high enough as to have to improve engine performance at least 20%. I honestly doubt about the "seriousness" of that publication.

I'm more interested in the "upgraded brakes" they mention in that article.....

I wonder if the magazine is confused, and that motor has instead a variable intake plenum instead? I can't see a more volumetrically efficient cylinder head (VVT) having such a tiny-ass little plenum on it's stock intake manifold.

Something just doesn't seem right...

And wouldn't you think Hyundai would be proud enough to put in big bold letters on the head cover: "VVT" like Honda, Acura, Toyota, Ford and everyone else does?? Especially since they are coming so late in the game to variable valve timing on their engine?

If you have a beta engine wouldn't all you need is the head and whatever ecm wise to make it run. Plus if it's varible valve timing, someone may make a VVT controller so you can gain more power than just the extra 3.

The beta2 IM looks very small...till you see it from the back/side. It is very DEEP. They went with a vertical plenum, rather than a top mount chamber Plenum. More compact packaging, and it shortens intake runner length.

My guess is they did the same/similar thing here.

And for those of use running the alpha motors (Accents)what would it take to install one cost wise? And once again...how do you get ahold of one?

Random, i looked at a 2002 lantra intake, and half of the plenum isn't used...
if you remove the frost plugs on it'S side you'll see that this chamber doesn't "communicate" with anything.. maybee US vehicules are different...
