well broke everything down financially and due to not having the car running for the past month and a half and not really going out or doing much besides school and work cause of it i realized that i got some extra cash comming up after going on a somewhat of a spending spree for this month

17" forged centerline wheels (ordered)
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 (money aside but gota get around to ordering)
PRD wires (same deal)
Iridium plugs (same deal)

shitty its winter cause i would soooo love to throw those on the second i'd get em

got about an extra 300 bucks or so coming up that im pretty sure i can put aside for some goodies for the car

came up with 3 choices and can afford two of them unless someone comes up with a better way to spend the money, so far all i got in the engine is a CAI

- 4-1 Headers
- Underdrive Pulley
- 1.8l cam

wonder what 2 of the 3 would give the best hp for $

i 'think' headers and cam? or would the pulley do more for the car

It'll be hard to get a 4-1 header and cam for 300 unless you find a used header.

But yes, those two will give the best gains.

 

Only 4-1 available now are those wierd ones from Australia that are like $600.

(insert future sale plug here) I'll have my Maintec 4-2-1s for sale once my turbo goes on for a bit above 400 bucks soon though. cool.gif

a 4-1 header would benefit a standard car more then a 4-2-1 correct?

as far as i remember a 4-1 adds abit more power to the top of the rpm band as a 4-2-1 gives about low to mid power?

 

Good news is that you could easily get a 1.8L cam and U/D pulley for like $150

Hwarang 4-1 headers are still available from Shark Racing.com & FastHyundai.com... for between $US395 & $US410

RPW & PSC both sell some as stated above but they are kinda pricey.

 

heres what you should do, buy the ebay U/D pulley and stuff from alex for ~150$ or close to it..

buy the 4-1 OBX header, it was pretty good, and i felt the gain, and get some DEI heat wrap, and wrap the whole header and D/P..

that will all be really close to 300$ an you could have ALL the mods.. wrapping the manifold would help ALOT with heat, and you would feel a difference in under hood temps/

dont look like they sell the 4-1, but the gains on the 4-2-1 will be very close to the 4-1 and probably not even noticable..

couldnt find an underdrive pulley on ebay, but found overdrive pulleys..

but honestly, you could get ALL three, including the exhaust wrap for 300$ and you def. would feel the difference.

 

Darn... that's a really good price for headers... wish I could afford it right now.
