supercow, that is probably a top 3 in useful information I have ever received. I'm assuming you'll have to solder those as well. Awesome.

According to that site you just use the output's from a wideband O2 sensor. You'll obviously need the ground/12v power/power and all that.

Can I just go in there and ask for a board of that type?? I planned on just going in to a Radio Shack with the picture and seeing what came of it.

Very nice I knew we'd get some info this baby. Whether I purchase it all my self or get the one from the far side of the world, I will be doing this mod. I could even setup a DIY for it if needed.

As far as the board goes, depending on how you want to mount it then you might not even want the board. just use wires + solder and your done. but on the other hand a board would be a nicer solution.

edit: after alot of researching on this, it looks like there is about a million and a half ways of doing it. but I'm come to the conclusion that the above is just about the best. I'll look for a place to get the parts later, radioshack doesn't carry that chip.

30701 - 3.6k resistor - now I'm thinking just buy a 1k bag, use one of them for the 1.2 and use 4 in series for the 3.8

that brings us to the grand total of $8.36 + shipping. this one won't be on a board but it'll be very small. you'll need something to mount the leds on as well... I'l thinking something that will mount in the spot under my radio.

edit: spot under radio = that little cubby hole and I meant in place of it.

 

If you come up with a reliable way to do this mang, I'd buy one off of ya.

 

doode, it would be easy. plus, you need to start soldering. wink.gif no flux, just standard electrical soldering. melting metal(lead and tin) on something hot. not hard at all, just dont get that damn cold heat soldering iron. POS :roll:

lol, the solder has weld marks???? um, if after your soldering gun has had enough time to warm up (like 10 minutes max) and it doesn't liquify the solder as soon as you touch it... then it be broke.

I can look into making them, suddenly I've got two people asking about it, I was just planning on a diy though. laugh.gif

you gotta make the solder complete the circuit between the two seperate prongs on the end.
