I have a cel and took it to auto zone after doing the gas cap and everything, it came up as a leak in the intake or exhaust, a small one, I was checking it and while there is a sucking sound comming from behind the IM, is this normal or should I keep trying to use double sided tape on all the line connections, I cant hear exactly which line its comming from because of the engine noise

spray something like carb cleaner around the area to pinpoint the leak. when you hit the area, the engine will rev a little more.

It went off after I played with the lines tightning the clamps and putting double sided tape on some connections, it went off so I stopped messing with it to find exactly what it was

double sided tape isn't good to use in the engine area, the heat will cause the glue to melt. Do like Tibby said and spray some carb cleaner on your hoses and just replace the hose when you find it.

I use double sided tape on the exhaust and in the engine bay, it works fine, I used it to clog up where the hoses r on the conectors, and tightened them if I could, I took off the doublesided tape where I could see it and the CEL stayed off smile.gif

Ive only had a CEL on once before more than a year ago, restarted the engine and it went off, for the exhaust I can use it for some viberations around the muffler area
