Well I got the elantra running and its purring like a kitten even without the base timing set. And well my only problem left is when i take the key out the car wont stop.. lol any suggestions?

if you remove the cables from the battery terminals and it keeps running... I would assume it's demon possessed and drive it off a cliff.. preferrably without you in it.

Once any car is running you can pull the battery off and it'll still run,cause at that point electrical loads are being supplied by the alternator.
If the car won't stop, it seems like it should be a problem with the ignition system,right? Maybe the key switch has some bad contacts.At any rate,I'd think of things between the key switch and the starter.

very good chance it's your ignition switch. pull the fuel pump fuse to temporarily get it shut off (i'm sure you're like in the process, or have already fixed it...)
