I'm going to say the not reving was due to the MAF being unplugged.

Thats what I was thinking. I have done once as well back when first got my car.

I forgot to clamp down the elbow part that connects to the MAF and the TB after I swapped coil packs. Then when I put some pressure on it it popped off. So in essence the MAF was unplugged.. So was my CAI...
