I keep burning up my spark plugs. I put them in at .040, and 10,000 miles later, they come out at .044. WTF? Any ideas?
I regapped them and put them back in. It's running much better now. I cannot afford to spend another $12 per plug on NGK or any other high grade plug. Anyone else regap or do you just throw the plug away and get a new one?

The plugs are cold enough. They're heat range 7. That should be fine for 55hp boost of nitrous.
I doubt the LED theory, but good logic.
Can short trips cause premature wear on the spark plugs or just buildup? Most of my trips are 1-5 miles.

Any colder plug will foul out quickly.
If their lasting you at 10000klm thats fine and plus their cheap to buy at about $2 a plug for the NGK BKR7E

After 10,000 miles it's only down by 4 thousandths!! Wow dude, those things are doing you pretty good for what they are. Resistor style spark plugs don't really last too long, especially after engine mods (nitrous, exhaust, intake, etc). Just don't go run out and grab some iridium or plantinum ones. They'll screw up your coil pack.
Hehe, I get it. LED.... logic.... laughing.gif

12$ per plug. what the hell are you buying..
your gap is off by .004 and your concerned after 10,000 miles.. you know thats only about the width of a human hair, right?
.004 isnt going to make your car run much different. prob not even noticable.
you should tune your car instead of just the slapped on nitrous. your probably running lean when you go on the ricer juice.

could be a NUMBER of issues with fuel.
old fuel pump, not functioning as good as it should, clogged lines, injectors not functioning properly, fuel pressure off, nitrous fuel jets not functioning properly, etc. etc.
with any type of major power adder, even if its ricer juice, you should AT LEAST monitor AFR, EGTs, or have some type of tuning.
