Seriously, I'm shocked by the number of problems that keep springing up one after the other.

Just 10 days after I got my CEL fixed, my front left Caliper changed and now my Brake light is on.

I checked the parking brake and it is fully down. The light disappears only for a few seconds when the Tib accelerates from stop or brakes to a stop. Otherwise, always on.

Lately it just stays on. Has anyone seen this before?

^^ Check the switch and check the connections. You might be grounding out somewhere.

How I would go about doing this is parking near a wall, garage door or in the garage so you can see the light from the brake lamp. Now pull up and down on your ebrake slowly and see if at any time the light flickers or goes off or anything. If nothing, I'd pull the center console out and check connections. Wiggle wires around while looking at the wall for light. If you haven't found the problem this way, I'd check webtech for the wiring diagram and trace it out to pinpoint your problem.

EDIT.

OH it's your guage cluster light. OKAY. I'd go through the same steps but instead of being infront of a wall. If you can't find your problem i'd also take off the dash and have a look at the wires there.

yes, that is the other thing that brake light does. As yours goes out when accelerating, I am going to bet that you are way low on brake fluid.. especially if you replaced a caliper and did not top off the resevouir

Incorrect. I did top off the brake fluid when the lines were bled.

I'll double check to be safe. It would seem to be the only thing that makes sense.

My mom's Taurus does the exact same thing. We were told it was a problem with the master cylinder from Firestone. We haven't had it repaired yet because the car sits in the garage majority of the time. It didn't make much sense to me but I'm not that well versed mechanically either.

Yup... one of those nice "safety features" that all cars in the US have had since the late sixties or so. At least new cars let you know when you are low on fluid. My fiat only lets you know when one circut (front or rear) does not have the same line pressure as the other. In other words, you have to hit the brake to find out you have a problem with the brakes. Probably the worst time to find out.

Also.. I edited the title. I have a petpeeve about the misuse of similar sounding words. It is a BRAKE, not a BREAK.

Think about it man, you just had a caliper replaced and you have a light for the brakes...
