Now that I think about, I think the manifold cat may be the one that broke apart, since the front and rear screen were still in tact on the rear catylitic converter. That would make since wouldn't it, that the debri came loose and traveled down the exhaust till it hit a stop on the screen of the rear cat. I can't really check the manifold cat though, because of the bend in the pipe...so I have no idea for sure. Do you guys know of a way to verify?



My exhaust doesn't look like this picture. Mine goes manifold cat, then flex pipe, then second cat, then resonator pipe, then muffler. Is that how it should be? Or do your guys's systems match up with the picture?

Well, I guess the car is running just fine, since I got rid of all the debris blocking the exhaust. Now I'll just have to worry about passing smog next year. We shall see!



I still think it was the header cat that went out, but I have no way of checking for sure!

I would still suggest having a local dealership run your VIN to see if it is under recall.
