Anyone From Socal?
For years I've been taking my first gen to actual hyundai deals for any minor repair issues. I've been doing this primarily because most of the indie shops in my neck of the woods don't even know what the car is.
But I've run into an issue..
A few weeks ago I noticed a noise that reminded me of the noise that comes from the hub assembly when the the bearing goes bad. But I also noticed that the car began to leak puddles of oil on the same day. So I took the car to the dealer and they said they fixed it. They replaced the rear bearing and the axle seals. I drove the car home and I still was hearing the noise.. so I stopped and I noticed it was also still leaking. So I brought the car back to them. This time they blamed the noise on the tires, they said they were bad tires even though I've only had them for 6 months and the noise had just started. I was like "bad tires cause a leak". So they said it was the valve cover and that the front hub assembly needed to be done. So after a long argument about how they misdiagnosed it the first time, they did the valve cover for free and just charged me for the front bearings. They then said it was fixed but that it still needed new tires. They seemed obsessed about the tires.
So I pull out of the parking lot and guess what?
I now had the same noise the same leak and now I heard something bouncing around in the tranny. So I brought the car right back to them. This diagnosis was that a bearing was out in the differential and that the tranny needed to be replaced.
In other words..
I paid 1300 dollars to have a ton of stuff fixed that didn't need to be fixed and they just kept misdiagnosing the actual issue. I'm actually leaving out a lot of the mistakes they made as well as how many weeks I have invested into this now.
So my question is this..
Is there anyone out there in the SoCal area who can recommend a shop thats good with Tiburons other than the dealers? Preferably the San Gabriel valley?

I heard about a guy in the City of Industry that was supposed to be a great hyundai tech. I believe he was mentioned in Import Tuner when they were discussing headlight tricks. I wonder if its the same guy..
I'll see if I can contact him.. thanks..
