Vehicle: 2008/Hyundai/Tiburon GT Limited Edition 2.7L V6
Default Anyone Know????

Does anyone have a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 2.7L that they put a name brand CAI on? Can't seem to find any manufacturer that makes one specifically for my year. I read a lot of statistics that say the 2007 and 2008 have the same engine and ECU but that there were software updates on 2008. Worried about throwing a code. Anyone have any info on this? I have searched all over!!! Need a little help. I know I can build one but does nayone have any experience with this?

dont know of anyone, but i am 99.834% sure you will have ZERO issues. even with a 'software' update, it probably has nothing to do with what adding a CAI would do.

any CAI would throw a similar code if one was thrown.

name brand CAIS are just for people who like to waste money anyway.

you could build a custom CAI or buy a knockoff for like 50$.

I only want to go with a namebrand just because I don't know much about this! I guess it is more of a "piece of mind" factor getting a trusted brand name that has made parts for my vehicle.

Anyway you are right about wasting money and I wish I knew more or had some friends in my area that knew what they were doing that I could trust but unfortunately I don't!

I think I am just going to get the AEM CAI that was made for the 2007 as I did research it and find out that the engine and ecu's are the same from 2007 to 2008 and I looked at an excel spread that showed the statistical comparisons. Even called Hyundai and they said there were a few software update changes from 07 to 08. If it throws a code.......is there any way to fix that?

its a cold air intake... name brand, custom made, made out of PVC piping, all going to do the same thing lol..

depends on the code, but its not going to throw one.

The way to fix it is to remove the intake and go back to stock. Then the code should go away, or you can have it reset. IF it throws a code and IF there's no way to make the code go away, then worst-case you have added to the knowledge base and you can resell the intake.

Just wanted to update this Thread!!!

I installed the AEM CAI made for the 2006-2007 Tiburon.......It fit perfectly.....was not a problem installing it especially since I am mechanically impaired!

Anyway it sounds great....feels great adn I have nothing but Positive great things to say! So needless to say the AEM CAZI is perfect for the 2008 GT V6 2.7L!!!
