The weird thing that I noticed was with the new alternator in there was no battery light on my dash. Even when just switching the key to on without starting. With the old one in the light is there.

I thought there was just a 8ga or 4ga wire that goes from the +12v battery terminal straight to the alternator? Thats how it should be charging if I remember correctly.

The main charging line has a 100A fuse inline. The sensing signal turns that on and off. I have no idea what the pre-excitation resistor does nor the fuse that powers it, so I can't really make a call, but it would be something to check. It's in the schematics above.

The starter is the only thing I know which has no stock fuse.

I haven't really been able to find anything in my shop manual Mike, I'll let you know if I do.

This pre-excitation resistor has a little diode in it that can go bad. My son and I have been messing with my Tiburon attempting to get it running. It starts runs pull the batt cable and dies. I only paid 400.00 for this little car but I love the hell out of it and I have to fix it. Now then, I have two new Alt's and I am willing to bet that the VR is bad in both of them. I have this same schematic and this M15 ties into the Instrument Cluster.

I have got some stories to tell about my Tib
