So my airbag light came on for no reason today. No they haven't deployed ever, so why could this be, and how can I fix it? I was pully my gauges off and on today with the battery connected and everything, but would taht make it come on? Help?

If your gauges, airbags, or fuses come unplugged and plug back in while the car is on, it will set off the airbag warning indicator. You need to contact the dealership. They will charge you $60 to turn it off.

yeh. mine's on too. have you messed with any cables like the ones going near the seats? i unplugged something from my seats and the airbag light came on and won't come off. they've never deployed either.
dtn's right, dealership will charge you but they're the only ones who can turn it off. the bastards at my dealer didn't even fokking do it when they were messing with my ecu.

The upper left fuse in passenger compartment fuse box (fuse 1) is the fuse responsible for the airbags. It is also where the power for the airbag light comes from. Your airbags won't deploy with that airbag light on anyways, so you may as well pull fuse 1.

I'm going to go and pull the leads off of my battery all night and reset everything. HOPEFULLY that light will go out... No reason it shouldn't, right? The memory is obviously stored somewhere, and it isn't like some sort of hard drive, so taking power off for like 10 hours might help. I'm also going to pull any air bag and ECU fuses I can to try and jumper it out or something... I'll tell you guys if it works.

Just give it a few days. I've had a few times where it has come on for a day or 2.

Well... I just disconnected my battery, and I will reconnect it in the morning when I go to work. I also put the hazards on to drain ANY remaining power in any capacitors. Plus I held the brake for like half a minute too. There should be NO juice left in that bad boy. I hope this thing will go away. I knew it was dumb to do what I did, but I was anxious and didn't like starting my car every 5 seconds... So it might go away on its own though jer?
