Not sure if this belongs here but it seemed the best place. Why would the air conditioning come on when the windshield defrost is selected? If the ac comes on during winter could it damage the compressor?

The a/c removes moisture from the air. Your foggy wind screen has too much moisture on the inside surface. Blowing warm, dry air on the wind screen eliminates the problem . . . and the dry part of that comes from _______!
