^do you mean because the sound of the exhaust overcomes the sound of the intake?

^^ You are correct sir. I've always tried to keep my exhaust is quiet as possible, even N/A (24.5" glasspack, stock exhaust tip [made a hell of a difference], etc.). Loud exhaust on an import aggrivates me for some reason.

Turbo sound annihalates exhaust sound though, at least in car. I can't even hear my exhaust now LOL.

you're so lucky!!! yeah turbo just gets rid of everything except that sexy BOV sound. glad to hear your turbo is working man... wish i had the time and knowlege to put up with one...

glasspack did wonders, though an AEM definitely will sound much better with a 5-speed. any car sounds better in 5-speed though. it's not the loud rocket cans i hate it's the rice buckets.

here's some pictures of an AOS/Chrome intake combined It sounds just like an AEM.

It puts the filter in the same place, it's designed the same way, but it's got more flexability because the pipe that comes in the AEM kit is split into 2 pipes for the chrome intake. The Chrome Intake is a AEM clone which is a true cold air intake. The AOS is a Injen clone, which is a warm air intake. The AOS has the chrome Y-pipe elbow though, so it's worth buying for that piece.

i've got a home made cold air...had my exhaust guy bend some pipe for me and just dropped my filter down in front of the tranny. amazingly enough, i've never had a problem with water gettin in the filter. i did it this way because i didn't want to mess with moving the emissions box out of the way inside the fender.

EBay.

You can get the Y elbow from this Warm air intake kit

You can get the cold air from this kit. (AEM clone)

Or the improved cold air (split AEM clone) which can be adjusted to stop battery rubbing. I'm pretty sure it's this one, might want to call to verify it's the 2 piece. This one has a cool air filter cover that comes with it. Looks interesting.

And don't forget to throw in one of these puppies.

I know we should support the companies like AEM who make products for our vehicles, but price for function, E-Bay parts beat AEM hands down. If Chrome Intakes wants to make a $30 CAI for us and AEM wants to make a $300 CAI, and I work for the government... Lowest bidder wins.
