AEM Intake for '03 V6 Tib
#3
Can I ask why you say that your will be better? Don't get upset or mad or anything I am just wondering. I mean AEM is a very epitable company that produces numerous parts for numerous cars. Now you guys focus mainly on our cars so you have time for more R&D so therefor you might be right. I will not hesitate to put an AEM product on my car at all though. How much cheaper would Sharkracing's be then AEM. There's is probably going to go from $200-$250. Like I said, I am just asking, so don't get offended or anything. Do you think you will offer a upgraded brake package also. I want a product like the Big Brake Upgrade for my Tib. I painted my calipers and want some nicerotors, to go with it.

First of all, its better because I say so. But seriously I saw their design for the older Tiburon, and was not impressed. Also we are using a new style of intakes that I have not ever seen before (not to say that it doesnt exist) on other intakes for other cars. Our Intake will be 140-160 dollars including shipping most likely. Our full line of Tiburon products wont be released for a little while, but we do have some tricks up our sleeves. :-)

I just went to AEM's website to view their dyno results. They are pretty impressive. They used a Dynojet model 248c for the testing. Here are their results.
peak Stock HP 143.2
peak CAI HP 158.2
peak gain 16.2 HP
peak stock ft-lb 156.0
peak CAI ft-lb 167.8
peak gain ft-lb 15.8
Of course these numbers are at the wheels. I am very impressed with those results. The gains are good through the whole RPM range especailly for the torque. I will wait for Shark Racing to coplete their CAI and provide the results. If they are better then SR will get my money if not then

yamaneko - this is a bit off topic - but I live about 3 miles from Shark Racing, do you guys have a store front - or are you mail order only?
Hoping to save some shipping once you have new product available. wink

if you already get a nice difference by just removing the airbox the intake probably isnt going to be much different.
we'll have to wait and see
