Right quick question about timing the cam. I have the marker on the cam were it should be(the one on top) but my cam indexes do not point to the top but almost strait down. So can I swap the cam were it is now and hope I get the right wee angle that its on? Or do I need the indexes to be pointing straight up?
Read the D I Y and it was very helpful but, it just said every thing goes in the same way it came out, therefore if I can get the index marker on the 1.8 to sit at the same angle it will work? I do have the 5 link space in the chain as it stands.
Now while I'm in there I'm hoping to add my cam gear to the exhaust. Questions being, do I impact the side or will that come out with a ratchet? I tried and it kept spinning.
Last question, when setting up the cam gear, advance means more top end and retard means more bottom end? That being the case were should I consider setting it?
Thanx in advance for any info, I tackled this yesterday, but Im being safe and tring to figure things out before I break something!
