Personally I Had My MR2 Spit On Me And It Was Because My Radiator Fluid Was Bad And It Was Over Heating A Bit But If You Do Have A Cold Air Intake Then It Could Be Water... Did U Have Any Rain When You Were Driving It Becaue That Sucks Ass When Your Engine Bogs Out... Either Water, Tune Up, Or Heat Exhaustion... Other Then That Im Lost, Im Sure Its Not A Electronical Problem The Cars Too Young

24000 is about when my plugs and wires went the first time.

 

check your air fuel ratio

rememmber my car didnt idle so everytime i stopped it stalled
my car didnt shake though

 

i had a similar problem before. check the connection on the tps sensor. the clip broke off of mine and would cause it to come off during driving. this would make my car shift like shit.

it could be a combonation of things but thats where i'd start. when i was having that issue it made me think my tranny went on me.

 

Okay guys, here's the situation. it's now september and my car did the same thing AGAIN. rpms fell down, then car died. twice. in the same day. then, the next day(sunday), my rpms revved and fell down, all while i was keeping constant pressure on the gas. it made the car lurch. my friend felt it and realized something wasn't right.

my dad called my uncle (who knows a lot about cars) and he said that it sounded like a fuel pump possibly, maybe fuel starvation. so my dad took my car to our local mechanic. the guy also said it might be a fuel problem.

SO: he checked the error codes. One was thrown on sunday (the day with the weirdness) and it said my throttle was at 84%, yet my rpms were at 700....700!!!!. i was like WTF!?!?!?!? another weird thing is that it didn't show any of the 10 CEL's thrown because of my gas cap this summer.

this all leads to my question: DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO CHECK THE FUEL PRESSURE IN OUR DAMN CAR? the mechanic can't figure it out....he said that there's no easy way to do it and i might have to take it to the hyundai dealer. he wants to fix it, but he can't because of my gay korean car. so, he's keeping it for the next few days to see if it acts up and doing a routine maintinence on it. (change oil, spark plugs, my gas cap that wasn't sealing, everything)....since it has 25K miles on it.

If it says your throttle was at 84% and you were idling, that definitely sounds like a TPS problem.

 

TPS? umm...so i'm dumb. what's that?
