will having the tire pressure monitor system make it difficult to change rims?

Shouldn't be a problem



The actual sensor is part of the valve stem (on hyundai's)



The only problem i would see is the guy mounting the tires. The sensors are very fragile and low pro tires can be a b*tch to take off/on. When the 2 are combined the guy at the machine better know what hes doing.

You can swap them between rims, just make sure the guy mounting them is aware. Some cars have had them for years (Monte Carlos) and many manufacturers are including them now to comply with legislation. It shouldn't be the first time they've worked with them before, but it's a good idea to let them know when you change your tires/rims.

It shouldn't. Most places should have standard pricing. If they try to charge you extra, go to a reputable shop.

Its getting to the point where they are going to look first anyways. The ones that are part of the valve stem are easily identified. The other style (fords mainly) wrap around the outside of the rim with a metal band. Which can be seen when your break the bead.



Any car 2006+ is required to have this system

Thats not completely true my GF has a 2006 Nissan Sentra and it doesn't have TPMS.

It maybe labeled as an 06' model but most likely was manufactured in 05'. That's why you'll see 2012 models in showrooms probably around spring/summerish of this year.
