Depends what you're dipping. I did my rims for spring. Can't wait to get them on and see what it all looks like. I say go for it, and if you don't like it, peel it right back off.

dip the catalytic converter and be done with it

PD'd my emblems and fog light bezels. It's not hard. Just be patient and put on light coats or else it'll look shitty.
