The middle window brake light works fine. But the other 2 dont

Everytime I try to replace a bulb it doesn't work, and it ends up leaving a little black burnt mark inside the bulb. The bulb works, its just the brake part of the bulb that burns out.

Any suggestions as to what's going on?

if it's under warranty I would take it in. sounds like an electrical problem and you'd give yourself a headache dealing with it. you might also get a headache at the dealership too on second thought.....

 

in my escort, my one headlight kept burning out because it kept shorting out. bad wire. i had to get replaced.
