Driving around 40mph on a straight stretch. All of the sudden the steering wheel whipped out of my hands and in a split second I was in the oncoming lane! I had broken finger nails frantically trying to get a good hold on the wheel. I was pulling as hard as I could that my body was off of the seat. The whole time, the steering wheel was shaking which sounded like a muffled jackhammer and jerking to the left. It took all of my strength to get it back over and to keep it in the right lane. This struggle lasted the distance of around 6 car lengths. Finally in park, we were shocked to see the wheel was still jerking. My husband asked my son to use the cell phone to video the wheel. Thank God we didn’t hit anyone. Just think of what could have happened if I had been going faster, or if I was in a high traffic area which is where we were heading. This was terrifying! The car only had just over 300 miles on it. We had a tow-truck take it back to the dealer. It was the 7th and last day I will ever drive a Hyundai. This has been reported.

Didn't the same exact thing happen to a Sonata last year? And the dealer inspected it couldn't find anything wrong with the car? Hmm I wonder if they're looking at a major recall. I don't trust these electronic assist steering.
Of course it could be fake video made by Toyota or some rival co. made to tarnish some H sales.

Could be somebody fishing for "legitimacy" on a lawsuit, who knows.
Power steering is pushing it. Electronic assist is a step too far and drive-by-wire ohellno!
Like I said before.

40mph... 6 car lengths... = 1.032 seconds? That isn't even enough time to get into oncoming traffic and back, much less stopped.
I just tested it with my Evo. I don't have the ability to zoom while taking video. Does an iPhone allow that?

It looks like an annoyance, but it's obviously not hard to control. It takes very little force to overcome the wheel turning, as seen in the video. The only way that would jerk you out of your lane is if you weren't holding the wheel at all. I would want it fixed if it was mine, but I don't think this is exactly dangerous.
What would potentially cause this?
Also.... I've never seen a brand new car leave a dealership with paper in the floorboard.
Maybe Midas, or Goodyear, but not a brand new car from a dealership.
Only 300 miles on the car? If there's paper (mud/dirt protector for floormats) in the floorboard, I would ask where they took it to and what was done to the vehicle that may have affected the steering.
It's hard to see the paper in that video, but they posted another that appears to be from the same camera angle and on a road:
