And while the HED-6 compact crossover concept was likely fully realized before the designer bolted for Mercedes-Benz , the HED-6 was actually penned in the company's European Design headquarters in Rüsselsheim, Germany. In any case, the HED-6 (you remember last year's HED-5 concept from Geneva, don't you?) is expected to preview future compact crossover designs for the Korean automaker, and it features pulled-back headlamps bookending a hexagonal grille, a "three-dimensional" sculpted backlight made from Lexan, LED daytime running lamps, and a surprisingly modest set of 21-inch alloy wheels (modest for a showcar, at any rate). The all-new Hyundai HED-6 SUV concept
Hyundai is all set to unveil a brand-new concept car – a compact SUV – at this year’s Salon International de L’Automobile, in Geneva, on the 3rd of March this year. This new compact SUV concept, codenamed HED-6, was styled at Hyundai’s European design headquarters in Rüsselsheim, Germany.
Equipped with LED daytime running lights and powered by a 175bhp, 1.6-litre GDi turbocharged engine, the HED-6 will provide a glimpse at the future of Hyundai SUVs.
Hyundai will also unveil a three-door version of the i20 hatchback, and a new version of the i30 blue, with stop-start technology. This will be the first usage of this technology (which Hyundai calls ISG – Idle Stop and Go) on a Hyundai production car anywhere in the world.
Hyundai is committed to bringing all its i-series cars to India and after the i10 and the i20 which have already been launched here, the i30 – perhaps the ISG variant – could be coming to our shores pretty soon. The HED-6 should also be interesting because the first production SUV to be based on this concept is also almost certainly coming to India, probably in 2010.

Design wise the Hyundai HED-6 features a urban-muscular body with a hexagonal grille, angular style lines, piercing back-swept front headlamps, daytime-running LEDs, 21-inch polished alloy wheels and a special Ice Blue exterior paint job
Under the hood is a 1.6L GDi turbocharged engine that makes a total of 175-hp. Hyundai says the HED-7 “gives an indication of the next generation of Hyundai SUVs.”
