Hey I just filmed a short video of a run onto the freeway. My tach doesn't work so I never really know when my butter zone for shifting is, and it's harder than I thought to hold a camera, shift, steer, and watch the road at the same time. Anyways, enjoy.

Very nice. Much quicker than my Accent. I have been intending on making a similar video. Are you running the Accent trans? if so your shifts were in about the right place IMO.

Actually it's the Beta tranny. I'm a little confused on that though because I'd think the Beta tranny would be able to pull to higher speeds for each gear.

My main problem is that my engine bay runs hot and so depending on how long I've been driving I get less out of each gear, so I have to base redline off of how long I've been driving. I think a CAI would do wonders for me.

Do a CAI then. 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse non-turbo one off of ebay is like $25 shipped.

I don't know the Beta trans numbers offhand, it seems like they did pull a little higher overall but the Elantra was quite a bit taller than the Tiburon so it'll be different depending on what the trans came out of. The Spectra5 has the lowest Beta trans gearing.

I'm using the Elantra ECU with CVVT. I need to change tranny fluid or something because I'm always grinding when going into second, either up or downshifting.

Try Redline MT-90 if you haven't already.

Man that makes me miss my turbo! Might have to see if I can get something in the works, just don't know if I want to spend the money on forged pistons.
