Nope, not a proven platform in the slightest.

For that kind of money I'd rather have an Ultima GTR and a few $10,000 to go with it.

Was to misconstrue the point.

The Tib is a proven product. Sure these are highly modified, but you cant deny the pedigree.

has the tiburon had some racing successes? sure, of course they have. but those that one were HIGHLY MODIFIED WITH MANY SPONSORS BEHIND THEM. thats my point. no misconstruction here mang.

dollar for dollar it is not WISE to modify this platform.

assuming you are technically competent, say you build a basic turbo kit for the beta, roughly $3000. That gets you ~250 hp and still running a pegleg transmission and torque-steer like a mofo in a tranmission made of glass

what does 3000 get you in say a nissan 240sx? a sr20det with money left over for suspension mods

what does 3000 get you in a f body camaro? the world is your oyster, nos, gears, cams, full suspension mods, or even a used supercharger and 500+hp.

what does 3000 get you in a e30 bmw? a S52B32 swap that NA gives you 250hp and runs like a champ with money left over for other mods

all 3 of these have "racing pedigree" and all 3 would destroy a tib for a similar cost. heck i saw a late model fbody camaro the other day in pretty good shape for 7 grand. cant argue with 300ft/lbs of torque @ 2000 rpms.

All of that is a problem with support, not the platform itself.

Except for the tq steer bit, and the transmission but even that could be rectified.

faith, there is no point in arguing with a 3 year old. It's pointless, trust me.

pas did you play in the sandbox again?

take a warm bath and thatll help the sand exit faster.

and tibbi one could argue that a geo metro is a great platform with no support. doesn't make it cost effective to build.

and yes. dump another $1500 into the trans and you'll eliminate a small amount of torque steer and wheel hop. I wonder how much wheel hop a e30 has on the wheels that steer the car

(I don't see what clear advantage the tib has over a celica or integra anyway)

I still like hyundais, but faith is correct here folks.
