Dodge Spirit Engine swap

I Wanted to know if this has ever been attempted... that's a good engine to turbocharge, more displacement and some acutally come with a turbo attached...

If I were to go with a bastard engine swap, I'd find a much better supported engine than a Dodge Spirit motor.

The Mitsubish 4g63 comes to mind as a much more powerful motor with much better mod potential, and much better support.

Jester do a search on that subject and you will find that there are plenty of issue. The least of which is that most other engines are rotated 90 degrees to what Hyundai has done (the tranny is on the other side).

The Dodge Spirit R/T was a Chrysler 2.5 with a Lotus 4 valve head. The were 225hp. If you want the engine just get a Iroc Daytona.

Actually it was a Chrysler 2.2 I4 that was offered in the Dodge Spirit R/T but after it was discontinued they put the engine in the Dodge Daytona IROC R/T. As Random said, support will be scarce.
