Blown Headgasket?
If a beta engine has a blown headgasket, and it is replaced, is that all that needs to be done? Anything else needing service, like a compression test or anything? Asking because Im thinking about buying another beta engine for a new project and it had a blown gasket.

Depends on what's wrong. If the gasket was blown because it was a bad gasket then yes that's all it would need. If it leaked due to overheating and there was possible warping on the block or head, that would be a call for the machinist to make after careful measurement. Don't be surprised if it needs a little shave, but you may get lucky.
Also you might want to snag an intake and exhaust manifold gasket because they're easy enough to damage beyond reuse. New ones are cheap insurance anyway.
