I don't think anyone has tried it yet on anything but the GK. Looking at them it won't be nearly as simple as a Beta swap, our ECU's won't be able to run them. If someone gets the dual CVVT to work with a Megasquirt I might try swapping a 2.4l and 6 speed from the Kia Forte into the Accent.

There is a kit in Korea to swap the 2.0t from the Genesis Coupe into a GK Tiburon but it's $8000. Not very cost effective.

if it will bolt into a tibby it should bolt into an lc (thinking outloud here).
i guess you would have to swap the entire harness, computer, and ignition key (damn imobilizers, there is a way around that but its very long and technical)
-the real problem it seems would be what tranny, axles, etc would you run.

well i got the ball rolling maybe when someone comes across a wreck theta they might try it out.

yea 8000k you could just turbo the beta gk of course it would still be fwd. but then again if you can put a rear axle in a gk why try and make it awd? ok im off topic here

we will have to keep an eye out for a sonata, optima, or forte.

i remember that he had like 2 or 3 posts and Disappeared.
i think just bolting the engine would be relatively easy with most motors its the experimenting with motor mounts, tranns, axles that would get expensive. i imagine the first few attempts would not have successful outcomes but if someone has the time and money to mix and match parts they could probably figure it out. im sure the first beta swaps weren't all that great but now you can do it in a day because someone already smothed out the road bumps.

Yeah, the engine itself isn't as large as a Beta, but I don't know how large the transmissions are. FWD trans options include 5 speed from Sonata, 6 speed from Forte, various automatics.

Block sizes:
1.6l Alpha L18.3" W22.5" H25.8" 255 pounds
2.0l Beta L19.5" W24.6" H26.5" 318 pounds
2.0l Theta L19.2" W23.8" H25.6 297 pounds
2.4l Theta L19.2" W23.8" H25.6 323 pounds

And just for fun as a comparison:
2.7l Delta L18.3" W25.1" H26.3 413 pounds

That is all assuming the specs on that website are correct, but there are a few errors so it's hard to rely on their numbers 100%.

I remember that post, to bad he never followed up. Maybe he finished it, went to fast and hit something, thus killing himself never to reapear on HP.
