Every dyno graph I have seen, you pick up about 20hp and 20 lbs. Is it worth it to pay $600+ for a tune and only get that much? The 2.0's get a much bigger bump in power from their tunes so I can see why its worth it for them.
IMO - it depends on what you want. You won't get 20hp/20tq from any other mod you do to the car for $600. Full exhausts cost more than that and don't give you that much power. It also changes the responsiveness of the shifts and throttle as well, so the driving experience is improved as well as the power.
The 2.0 is much more responsive to tuning of course, but you aren't going to find many other options releasing 20/20 on the v6. For that $600, is it a dyno tune or a canned tune? A dyno tune is much a better investment IMO, since it can be adjusted for your specific vehicle. A canned tune will be a little more conservative so it can be applied to any V6.
