*zips up flame suit*
What do you all feel is the minimum age someone should be to own a Genesis? I ask because I don’t think someone who is 15, 16 or even 17 has enough experience to own a RWD car that can easily be made to have over 300 or 400 horsepower. Let the debate begin.

IMO, someone who is 16 or 17 definitely doesnt have the experience to drive a car like a Genesis. There might be exceptions but they will be very rare. I think someone should be driving for a few years before getting into something that could easily get out of control and spin out or hurt someone.

If the Genesis is going to remain stock I really do not see any issues with the car. If there will be no control of what is put on the car as far as mods go then NO. The car stock is not really that fast stock as far as the 2.0T I really have not drove the 3.8 much but I would imagine it would not be a good idea for someone that young to have a car with around 275RHP. Just my view but I just one person!

Pffft, it depends ENTIRELY on the driver's mindset.
Even the most raggedy SOHC X3 can attain speeds well over 120 mph. Most of the young drivers that have accidents around here are driving beaten to sh*t economy cars. If you walk through the local impound yard and inspect the cars confiscated for racing, 70% of them are boring vanilla family sedans and economy cars.
I will not be fed the bullshit line that the make of car will determine the driver's behaviour.

Yeah depends on the maturity of the said driver. No minimum age. Like others said, a 30 year old driving a rwd for 1st time flooring the pedal everywhere could be more dangerous than a 16 year old driving cautiously..

My first car at 16 was a '69 Mach 1 with a 302 motor. It was rear wheel drive, V8 powered and I had no issues except that it broke down just about every week.

Most people in their 30s probably learned to drive on a RWD car. Don't be dumb (I know, difficult for some of the younger folks), and you'll be fine.
