Whats the advantage of converting from a dual exhaust to a single?

I see some gen coupe owners converting their exhausts from dual to a single. What are the benefits to doing this?

^^ That, and less wieght from less piping, smaller muffler ect.

single exit exhausts have shown more performance gains. Less restriction. The air on a turbo wants to GTFO asap

I dropped 40 lbs by going from the OEM 2.5" single to dual to a 3" single.
