A laser wash just opened up near my house. I like it because it's completely touchless so I dont have to worry about brushes scratching up my car and its convenient for when I'm lazy and dont feel like washing the car myself. I went to it for the first time yesterday and after going through it, I noticed that there were these strange white marks on the dark plastic areas of my car. The part on my lower bumper by the exhaust tips and on the black plastic where my mirrors are. I used some tire shine on those parts and it took it away but what would cause the white marks on plastic like that? The rest of the car was ok.

 

Could be hard water spots. A lot of car washes put chemicals and stuff in their water and the result of that is the white bleach looking spots you see on plastic.
