Anybody have a short shifter for their genesis? Which one do you have and how do you like it? Was it difficult to install?

I had a TiC SS installed this summer. Took it out to take the car to the dealer. If you're interested I'll let it go 1/2 price. Not into the SS I guess.

It is not very hard to install. You do have to remove the heat shield and the drive shaft from the transmission. 1 hour max.

I also have a TiC short shifter. It's pretty good for the price, although I do notice some vibration noise under hard acceleration in higher gears. It's still worth it IMHO. Also with the TiC short shifter you can use any M10x1.25 shift knob, including the stock shift knob.

I have the TWM and love it. Expensive, yes. But i love the damn thing. Took me about 2 hours to install as i decided not to drop my drive shaft, which made it a complete pain. Also, i dont have a lift so it was jack stands for me.

edit: You should also get bushings while you are down there. Throwdown has a sts and bushings kit. I have the TiC bushings. Make sure they will fit your car before buying them.

I also have the TWM. Like Phat Korean said, it was pricey but well worth it imo. Took about the same amount of time to install in the driveway too, cuz I also didn't drop the drive shaft. Use a friend, it helps.

Also, there's some pics of TWM's falling apart, but I'm sure those are few and far between (and theres always some defective products). The design I see with that is not what I received. It appears that the newer design is more solid and doesnt look like it will come apart.

I think the only way it will come apart now is if you hulk shift it. My orig one came right off during spirited driving.

Wow! I wouldn't expect that from TWM especially for how much they cost...must have made for an interesting drive home

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but with TWM you have to get their own shift knob correct? That makes for an extra expensive short shifter, probably worth it though if you have the cash.

The drive home was.......interesting to say the least. lol. i had to remove the boot, etc for the shifter and shift with that short base. shifts were considerably shorter after that. lol. My fix was fun too. Duct Tape and a swifer broom handle. You dont need to buy one of their knobs. i believe ours is M10 x 1.25. I know its the same size as the Evo's. Thats how i have been shopping for knobs. Got a new addiction which sucks lol.

Hahaha that's awesome! You should have taken some pics and do a "Redneck DIY short shifter install powered by Swiffer" I know how it is, I'm on my second knob but I'm pretty content with it.

...for now.
