Default Powering Audi style light strips

I found somebody who can bake my lights and open them up to have them painted flat black. I would like to add the audi style driving LED strips inside (I know...real original) and was curious to know those who did this mod, what power source did you splice into to power the strips on and off.

I would power them through the running lights or the parking lights. I don't think US cars have running lights like we do in Canada right?

Any switched 12v source: your parking lights, your cigarette lighter, your turn signal - whatever you want.
