Default People on springs - how are your shocks holding up?

Ive been on Eibach springs for about 5 months now and my shocks seem to be holding up ok. I've gone over some rough roads and nothing has blown out yet. But when the time comes when the shocks call it quits, should I just get factory OEM ones again or are there other shocks out there that work better with Gen Coupes that are on springs?

5 months on factory shocks just to clarify

It matters not whether the shocks blow when you are using different springs

The aftermarket springs will be stiffer and lower

They will have a higher natural frequency than your OEM springs (they will vibrate/bounce faster if you leave them to their own devices)

The OEM shocks aren't designed to damp this higher frequency

Your $25,000 GT coupe will bounce down the road like a Yugo on a dirt road

Get some koni yellows or bilsteins, let them know what springs you have and what you want to use the car for, and they will send you shock absorbers to suit your needs.

I've been on Tein springs for around 3 months and still on factory struts. Ride quality isnt bad unless I go over some rough roads, but for the most part...its ok. Zero bounciness and it takes corners just fine. I do have a feeling though that I will need to new struts by next summer...especially since the car is going to be sitting still and in one spot for the next 5-6 months in winter hibernation.

Koni has expressed no interest in making struts for the Gen Coupe unfortunately. And Bilstein only offers a full coil over set....no struts for the Genesis.

oh boo hoo you only get custom parts from one manufacturer! Don't tell me you already forgot how hard it was getting almost-anything for the RD!

My struts lasted only 6 months on Eibachs. Tore them out and went with coils. Much better ride and much lower!

Im wondering how the ride quality is going to be in the spring after the car sits for 6 months on Tein springs and OEM compressed struts.
